Maryland School for Jewish Education (MSJE): K/1 Teacher – Sundays Only

We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Hebrew School Teacher for the remainder of our 2024/2025 school year! Our school meets once a week on Sundays throughout the school year. The successful candidate will have a background in Jewish education and a love for teaching.

The Maryland School for Jewish Education, Inc. (MSJE) serves the Washington D.C. metro area, holds classes at Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School (Lower Campus) in Rockville from 9am-12pm on Sundays, and provides students with an education about their Jewish heritage, customs and traditions. The goal of MSJE is to teach students about the essentials of being Jewish and instill a sense of pride in them while making the curriculum engaging through a Project-Based Learning approach. MSJE promotes a sense of spirituality and a sincere pride in their culture. While MSJE is an independent Hebrew School and not affiliated with a temple, we are reform in nature.

Knowledge in teaching Hebrew and Jewish values & tradition
Excellent communication skills.
Engaging teaching style
Compensation & Time Commitment:

Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience; time commitment is 3 hours per week and lesson planning
