Shaare Tefila, a warm & welcoming Conservative synagogue located in Olney, MD is hiring a music specialist! The ideal candidate will have experience as a song leader at camp and/or in synagogue settings. They will be able to engage students of all ages in Jewish learning through music. Responsibilities include: Working in coordination with the Director of Education & Programming, create a path for the children of Shaare Tefila to connect spritually to Judaism through music. Leading music for all school worship services & teach Sunday music classes, infusing the learning experience with ruach. Possible additional opportunities include Youth High Holy Day Programming and occasional Shabbat Services, which would be compensated accordingly. We are seeking a dynamic song leader who loves kids, is adept with several types of Jewish music, supports progressive Judaism, loves teaching, and is able to effectively connect with a large group of mixed ages – from preschoolers to octogenarians.
— Salary range is $15-$20K — Responsibilities are: – Leading 45-minute musical assemblies on approximately 25 Sunday mornings – Providing a musical component to classroom instruction – Providing musical leadership for approximately 6-8 holiday and community events throughout the year (Sukkot, Hanukkah, etc.) — All events will occur between September 2023 and May 2024 — Responsibilities do not include High Holidays; any services provided at these events would be subject to separate agreements and separate compensation

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Regional Ambassador is a full-time position, based in Baltimore, Maryland. Supervised by the DMV Field Manager, you will be responsible for growing the OneTable community in Baltimore and Northern Virginia, and supporting the DMV field manager’s work across the geographic region. You will spend your time building relationships, getting to know the regional community, welcoming your own community to OneTable, and exploring your own Shabbat practice, while supporting the organization across departments and hosting Shabbat events. As with all OneTable roles, this position is iterative and will evolve over time with input across teams.
Overall Focus Areas include: ● Acquisition of new hosts and guests ● Deepening user experience and relationships ● Hosting Shabbat events ● Connecting participants to other community members and organizations as appropriate – navigating responsibilities of a community concierge ● Stewarding new partnership and sponsorship opportunities in the area ● Understanding the needs of participants across the region
Specific responsibilities include:
Direct Support for Friday Night Dinner Hosts and Guests (Customer Service/User Experience): ● Support hosts throughout the region with check-in conversations, answering common questions, suggesting useful resources, etc. ● Welcome new community members as they apply to host with OneTable via video call, email, and/or in-person meetings (vetting, welcoming, providing ongoing one-on-one support) ● Acting as a “Shabbat Consultant”, helping users craft their own personal, meaningful, lifelong Shabbat practices ● Working closely with your supervisor to support strategic growth in the region
Administrative / Internal: ● Tracking participants’ engagement and running reports in our Salesforce CRM (you will be trained in Salesforce) ● Dinner management, reviewing and approving dinner descriptions ● Tracking and understanding trends in dinner themes and user conversations
Key Attributes/Skill Set: ● You love to be the host and meet new people. You can build welcoming spaces and create beautiful tablescapes. You are willing to work some evenings (Fridays, of course) and weekend hours. You are the go-to person for all our local events and partnerships, and serve as the educator, trainer, ambassador and cheerleader for all local hosts and partners. ● You prefer to be away from your desk/computer screen and out in the community. You should be out at events, in coffee shops meeting people and introducing them to Shabbat! (Locally and sometimes regionally). ● You love to use data to figure out what is missing and how to make things better and better, good is never really good enough. ● You are a dynamic team player expected to prototype ideas, iterate quickly, and cover for fellow Field team members, ensuring there is never a boring day! ● You are comfortable working independently in Baltimore while simultaneously recognizing that you are part of a national organization with an infrastructure in place to support and guide your work. ● You are strongly connected to the OneTable brand and mission. You understand our goals, voice, and mission and can imbue that into your 1:1 connections, larger events and partnership strategy.
Benefits Package: The salary is $48,000 annually plus the following benefits: ● Health insurance — medical, dental, and vision insurance currently through Aetna; OneTable pays 85% of the healthcare premium for each employee and 50% for dependents. ● Pre-tax commuter benefits, a flexible or health spending account (FSA or HSA), short and long-term disability, and life insurance. ● Time off: ○ Paid time off (PTO) for personal, sick days, and vacation. ○ The office is closed for all major Jewish holidays, as well as most federal holidays. ○ OneTable offices are also closed during the July 4th week and December 25 -January 1. ○ As an organization rooted in the mission of spreading Shabbat, we know the importance of having time on Fridays to start winding down and preparing for our favorite weekly holiday. The OneTable offices close at 4:00 pm (local time) every Friday and at 12:00 pm on the first Friday of each month. ● Optional and discounted identity theft protection, legal assistance program, pet insurance, travel insurance, critical illness, accident, hospital indemnity insurance, and more. ● This position is an exempt salaried position, which is not eligible for overtime. ● Access to a robust Jewish communal network by being a partner of The Associated. Looking for a summer job? Come work at Camp Mosh! Habonim Dror Camp Moshava is a progressive Jewish summer camp in Northern Maryland. We provide an an alternative Jewish community that focuses on connecting campers and staff to their Jewish identities through social justice education, collective living and learning, and youth empowerment. At Mosh, you’ll find a supportive community, lifelong friends, and the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children as a counselor. Lead alternative education that allows campers to express themselves creatively and explore ideas about social justice, socialism, and Judaism. We have opportunities for those who wish to work directly with kids as bunk counselors, or who wish to do otherwise, such as specialists (like sports specialist, arts specialists, Jewish learning, or outdoors/hiking specialist), and we also have spots in our kitchen to help cook for camp.

The Counselors are responsible for implementing the day-to-day camp programs while actively supervising campers ages 4 and up. The Specialists run the specialized programs that are part of the Camp experience.

Lessans Camp JCC is one of our core programs, and our seasonal camp staff play a major role in fostering a safe, engaging, and fun environment for campers. This is an exciting opportunity to work directly with our community and have a significant impact on the experience of our Lessans Camp JCC participants.
Core Responsibilities may include:
• Engage and supervise the campers in programs and activities while under the position’s care. • Demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of campers served, interact appropriately with campers in a variety of situations, and appropriately model behavior and use positive behavior-management techniques – enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, and self-control. • Lead activities for campers ages 4 and up. • Build curriculum with the Program Director for each camp session. • Integrate Informal Jewish Education into programs and activities. • Bring an enthusiasm for each program area to the camp community. • Be creative, positive, enthusiastic and flexible. • Take part in the daily clean-up of the program area, including putting all toys and equipment away. • Supervise in the pool with campers, assisting swim staff with their requests and needs, working hands-on with campers in the pool. • Effectively communicate with supervisor, staff and campers. • Comply with and participate in the County, State and American Camp Association requirements. • Recognize, respond and report to Unit Head or Head Counselor any environmental and/or other hazards related to the activity or the program. • Attend all required orientation meetings, staff meetings, and trainings.
Qualifications may include:
• Ability to physically assist campers in and out of the pool. • Ability to assist campers with reapplying sunscreen. • Ability to change soiled clothes as needed. • Ability to get on the floor to participate and supervise activities. • Ability to spend your camp day outdoors and walk and travel long distances. • Ability to move equipment and supplies as required. • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. • Willingness and ability to wear a mask for the entirety of the 7-hour camp day, as needed. • Prior experience working with school-aged children preferred. • CPR and First Aid certification preferred. • Able to communicate clearly and effectively with campers, parents, and peers. • Strong written and spoken language skills. • Knowledge of typical development in school-aged children. • Ability to get to and from work each day. • Recommended COVID-19 vaccination.
Must be available the entire camp season starting on June 20 going through mid-August.

What Is Movement Experiences? The Movement Experiences department is comprised of International Convention, BBYO Passport, Camp Leadership Programs, and physical and mental health and is supported by the Customer Service Team. The department works with all aspects of BBYO.
What You’ll do as Movement Experiences Intern – Support the day-to-day operations of the Customer Service Team – Respond to inquiries and provide excellent customer service to participants and families via email or over the phone – Provide administrative support and follow up to participants and families regarding travel logistics, incomplete payments, and incomplete forms – Operate in BBYO’s various CRM systems to assist in data management and customer service initiatives – Learn about the inter-mechanisms and support systems of a nonprofit and Jewish youth group – Assist with general office duties in BBYO’s DC office (unless you are working remotely)
Role Requirements – Availability to work at BBYO’s DC Hub (located in Washington, DC) is preferred; however, we are open to a remote intern. – A creative and responsible self-starter who is comfortable working collaborative and taking initiative – Detail-oriented with excellent writing and editing skills – Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) – Strong data entry skills required – Experience in CRM systems – The number of hours worked per week is flexible, but we are looking for somebody available at least 15 hours per week, averaging 19 hours per week, with some availability to work up to 25 hours per week during peak season.
