We’re thrilled you’re coming to the University of Maryland for college. Maryland Hillel is home to one of the most exciting and vibrant Jewish communities on any college campus.
Check out our new Freshmen WELCOME Tracks! Sessions are 5 weeks and start either Septemer 2nd or 3rd. This is a great way to get connected to your Freshmen Jewish community. Below you’ll have the ability to choose 1st, 2nd and 3rd choices. Note that we cannot guarantee your first choice if too many people sign up for that track.
WELCOME Track: Tastes of Tradition (Tues 6:00-7:30 p.m.) Learn how to make different Jewish foods from around the world. Each week we will be cooking and baking something new, and we will be doing this around campus, in a different dorm each week.
WELCOME Track: Mitzvah Makers (Mon 5:30-7:00 p.m.) Interested in giving back? Volunteer with us! Each week we will help out at a different part of campus and do mitzvot for our campus community.
WELCOME Track: Israel Insights (Tues 6:00-7:30 p.m.) Engage with all things Israel. In this track you will meet all of Hillel’s associated Israel clubs and do fun activities with them!
WELCOME Track: Campus Discoveries (Mon 5:30-7:00 p.m) – Let’s try something new each week on campus at night! Interested in what campus has to offer? Why not try it out with new friends.
WELCOME Track: Campus Discoveries (Tues 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.) – Let’s try something new each week on campus during the day! This is very similar to our evening option, but geared towards students in Freshmen Connection, or those who are just available!

We look forward to welcoming you to campus! Visit us at the Rosenbloom Hillel Center (7612 Mowatt Lane), right across the street from the business school, and one of our staff members or student interns can chat with you about Jewish life on campus and show you around our building!
You can stop by whenever works best for you from Monday to Friday at 10:00 AM – 4 PM.

During the week, dine with us in our Kosher dining hall for lunch or dinner. You can join as a walk-in guest and pay with credit card. Meals for prospective students are discounted at $10.
For Shabbat, you must sign up and pay ahead of time for dinner and lunch. Click here to join us for Shabbat.
