Our K-7 religious school meets Sundays 9:00 am – 12:00 pm and Wednesdays 4:15-6:15 pm. Rates begin at $36/hour and are commensurate with experience. Training and support are available to candidates of all experience levels. We are looking for teachers for various grades for the 2024-25 school year, which starts 9/8/24.
We encourage students to delve deeply into important topics, to become critical thinkers and active participants within their Jewish journeys. Hebrew instruction and regular tefillah give students the tools to lead services and gain competency in text study and prayer.
Ohr Kodesh is a Conservative synagogue, just outside of Washington DC, facing East/West Hwy. Local bus service provides direct access to Silver Spring, Friendship Heights, Bethesda, and Wheaton Metro stations. Travel stipends available for undergrad teachers.

Who We Are
Shaare Torah is a vibrant, open-hearted, joyful, and multi-generational synagogue community where you are welcome as you are. We learn, pray, play, pursue justice, and find inspiration as we grow Jewishly together.
We are a thriving congregation of more than 300 households, affiliated with the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism in the Lakelands/Kentlands neighborhoods. We are home to a full-time Early Childhood Center with 74 students and a supplementary religious school with 95 elementary and middle school-aged students. We have an active adult education scene as well as many social activities. Open Team Position
We are currently seeking someone to work in our main office to provide daily support to our executive staff and overall building function. As this individual will be the first person many encounter on a daily basis, they must be skilled at engaging with people with a customer service mindset/attitude.
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Promote the philosophy and mission of our organization
Manage administrative needs and support the executive team of two Rabbis and an Executive Director
Interact personably with congregants and ensure their needs are met as well as possible
Foresee and plan for the logistical needs of multiple, simultaneous projects
Manage membership database (Shulcloud), ensuring the accuracy and validity of information
Manage Rabbis’ calendars, including helping schedule appointments and ensuring they are prepared for meetings, classes, events, and services
Manage the general synagogue calendar and update the website regularly
Administer and track awarded grants
Coordinate with vendors and building maintenance staff
Qualifications:
Experience supporting senior leaders with projects, schedules, and other administrative needs
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with experience producing accurate and professional communications, ideally adept across multiple communication platforms
Proven ability to organize, prioritize, and delegate tasks and projects, and follow through on long- and short-term responsibilities
Expertise with core computer applications such as Microsoft Office & Google Drive and experience learning/developing proficiency in new, cloud-based software (bonus points for experience with any/all of Zoom, ShulCloud, Asana, WordPress, Constant Contact, and Canva)
Familiarity with the basic structures and systems of synagogue life, such as a general understanding of the Jewish calendar.
Ability to work under pressure with frequent interruptions
Customer service mentality
Experience handling/protecting sensitive and private data
Ability to uphold and maintain confidentiality

Camp Yavneh, a K’lal Yisrael Jewish overnight summer camp located in Northwood, NH is hiring madrichim for kayitz (summer) 2024!
A madrich/a (bunk counselor) has primary responsibility for campers and their care. The safety of campers is the principal priority. In this role, the madrich/a is responsible for guiding campers in their personal growth in all aspects of the camp program including Jewishly. They assist campers with daily living skills by providing general supervision, leading the delivery of programs, and serving as a role model that campers can look to for guidance. This includes the time period from wake up in the morning until the campers are asleep at night.
If the madrich/a is hired as a specialty counselor they will be expected to work in their specialty as scheduled. They report to their activity departments to facilitate instruction. As with all staff, the madrich/a will follow and adhere to all camp policies.
Reports directly to:
1. Unit Head (Rosh Ayda)
2. Activity Department Head (for chugim) and/or Roshei Tochnit
3. Rosh Shorashim/Tzeirim/Noar
Minimum Qualifications:
– High school graduate
– Desire and ability to work with children
– Ability to relate to one’s peer group
– Ability to accept supervision and guidance
– Ability to assist in teaching various activities
– Good character, integrity, and adaptability
– Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, and self-control
– A good, positive attitude towards Judaism and the desire to act as a role model in this regard
Essential Job functions:
– Assist in the direction, supervision, and organization of campers in the bunk and during activity periods (pe’ulot) and programs.
– Participate in the development and implementation of camp activities with co-counselors and rosh ayda
*Responsible for assisting and/or leading in ayda (unit) activities
*Take initiative to actively participate in all camp activities
*Encourage camper participation in activities.
– Maintain high standards of health, hygiene, and safety in all activities and in the bunks for campers and staff.
– Serve as a role model to campers and staff through proper attitude, work ethic, and behavior including:
*Follow and uphold all policies, safety and security rules and
established procedures.
*Be a dugma (role model) of Jewish values and exhibit positive
attributes of these aspects of camp
– Recognize and respond to opportunities for problem solving with
camper group
– Provide opportunities for the group so that each individual experiences success, enjoyment, and inclusivity during their time at camp
– Fulfill all tasks related to specific activity assigned for chuggim (electives) under the supervision of the specific Department Head.

Washington Hebrew Congregation is a large and historic Reform Congregation with campuses in Washington, DC and Potomac, MD.
