Rachel grew up in New Jersey and began her college journey at the University of Pittsburgh before enlisting in the Israeli Defense Forces following Operation Protective Edge. She spent four years in Israel, including two years serving in the Aerial Defense Division of the Israeli Air Force.

After her service, Rachel completed her undergraduate degree while spending her summers as the Program Director at the Jewish summer camp she grew up attending. She later earned her M.A. in Leadership in Jewish Education and Communal Service from Towson University, which brought her to Baltimore and into the Johns Hopkins Hillel community.

Rachel has spent the past five years at Johns Hopkins Hillel in a myriad of roles. For the last two years, she has served as the Assistant Director and spent her days focusing on ensuring that every Jewish student feels part of a vibrant, inclusive, and engaging Hillel community. She is excited to bring her experience and passion to her new role as Assistant Director for Student Life at the University of Maryland Hillel.
