March for Israel in Washington, DC

November 14, 2023

11:00 am — 3:00 pm

Maryland Hillel will be helping students get to the March for Israel, sponsored by the Jewish Federations of America. This rally is bringing in people from all across the country to show their support for Israel. Details are evolving and we will update this page and our social media with information. We will also be hosting a poster-making event before Tuesday and handing out pins to show your support.

11:30 a.m. – Students United for Israel Pre-Rally

1:00 p.m. – Main Rally

Maryland Hillel is able to provide this letter, explaining the importance of the rally, for students to share with professors if needed.

The March for Israel rally will have two different parts:

  • 11:30 a.m. – Students United for Israel Pre-Rally with Omer Adam + Ishay Ribo. Hear from some big-name performers, social media influencers and people your age most impacted by the events of the last month. Students receive special swag to wear proudly and make your presence known as well as snack bags to keep your energy up! Find your way to the stage once you’ve arrived — we’ll see you there. United we stand!
  • 1:00 p.m. – Main Rally. The Rally is intended to be over by 3:00PM. We are only providing the buses in the morning to the Metro, and you will find your own way back to your dorm/apartment in the afternoon.

Maryland Hillel will be providing shuttles to the College Park Metro, leaving from North Campus and the Hillel Building

  • North Campus – Denton Community: 9:30 a.m. – noon (leaving every 30 mins)
  • South Campus – Maryland Hillel Building: 9:30 a.m. – noon (leaving every 30 mins)

Please note that Maryland Hillel will NOT be coordinating transportation back from the rally.

Campus to the DC Mall timeline:

  • Shuttle to Metro is about 10 minutes
  • Take the Green Line to Archives-Navy Memorial-Penn Quarter. This is about a 24-minute ride
  • Walk to 12th street of the National Mall to the entrance. This is about a 13-minute walk.

Buying a Metro Pass

  • Please purchase a metro pass ahead of time. Consider buying a Mobile Pass or making sure your Metro card is already filled with enough money before Tuesday (Should be around $5 each way since it’s a weekday and peak hours)

We are recommending you attend this rally with a group, due to the number of people attending. We cannot guarantee everyone from UMD will be able to stand together, so we would feel better you were at least with a smaller group of students. If you don’t have a group, please be in contact with Adam at Maryland Hillel!

Have more questions? Check out the March for Israel official website.

Please sign up below so we know who is planning to attend and can share transportation information when it is finalized.
