Job Title: Youth Group Advisor Location: Bethesda, MD Department: Beth El Youth, Congregation Beth El of Montgomery County Reports To: Youth Programing and Engagement Director Position Type: Part-Time/Contract Compensation: $20-30/hour
About the Role: As a Youth Group Advisor, you’ll lead fun and engaging activities for youth (K-12) and help them build leadership skills, Jewish identity, and community connections. You’ll work directly with youth, creating a positive, safe, and inclusive environment while supporting both group events and individual growth.
Key Responsibilities: • Facilitate Activities: Lead and assist with youth group events and team-building activities. • Mentorship & Guidance: Be a positive role model, offering support and encouragement to youth. • Ensure Safety: Make sure events run safely and report any concerns to the Youth Director. • Communication: Keep in touch with the Youth Director and other staff to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications: • Education: High school diploma required; some college or relevant experience a plus. • Experience: Previous work with youth (volunteer or professional) preferred. • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a team; knowledge of Jewish traditions is helpful but not required.
Additional Info: • Ability to move up to 25 lbs for event setup/cleanup. • Programs mostly on Sunday afternoons, with options for additional hours on school holidays. • Occasionally activities will be off site, bus transportation will be provided
