Religious School and Hebrew Teachers

Let’s inspire the next generation of Jewish learners together!
Are you passionate about igniting young minds with the richness of Jewish culture and language? Do you bring a blend of expertise, humor, and positivity to your teaching? If so, we want you to join our dynamic team at Temple Emanuel Religious School (TERS) for the upcoming 2024-2025 academic year.
At TERS, we uphold three fundamental values: Limmud (Learning), Kehillah (Community), and Ruach (Spirit/Identity). Our school is enriched by the active participation of our clergy and shaliach (Israel emissary). Additionally, our community includes enthusiastic teens who assist as madrichol (classroom aides) and MITs (madrichol-in-training).
We are seeking teachers for:
Jewish Studies (9:00 AM-11:30 AM)
Hebrew, and Hebrew Enrichment (12:00 PM-1:30 PM). Enrichment staff will assist in setting up Hebrew learning stations and provide one-on-one Hebrew practice to students.
In-Person Hebrew (5:30 PM-7:30 PM)
Upper School – 9th Grade (5:30 PM-7:30 PM)
We offer a competitive salary (starting at $35/hour, depending on experience), inclusive of paid professional development and paid time off. We empower our teachers with training, resources, and curriculum support. It takes a village to teach the Torah!
Conveniently located in Kensington, MD on Connecticut Avenue, Temple Emanuel is easily accessible from the DC Beltway.
Temple Emanuel prides itself on being a vibrant, inclusive, and caring Reform congregation. Diversity is at the heart of our community, welcoming Jews by birth, Jews by choice, interfaith families, members of color, LGBTQ+ individuals, and those with different abilities. Together, we celebrate the richness of our Jewish faith.
