MODERN HEBREW TEACHER NEEDED at Creative, Community-Oriented Sunday School
We are looking for an intermediate or advanced Modern Hebrew speaker who can excite and engage our children. This teacher would come to our school to lead specials with a variety of ages. The teacher would integrate Modern Hebrew (ideally) with fun holiday learning, Jewish cooking, and Jewish crafts. The teacher would receive support from our Volunteer Coordinator on crafts or cooking days. We could provide HPA (Hebrew Proficiency Approach) training.
*We use the Hebrew Proficiency Approach taught at Middlebury College. The approach focuses on relevant, fun, and interactive methods of teaching Modern Hebrew based on linguistic research.
COMPENSATION AND HOW TO APPLY:
Teacher pay is very competitive.
Oseh Shalom Religious School meets on Sunday mornings (September to May on-site only). Oseh Shalom is a Reconstructionist synagogue located just outside the beltway and off 95 and 198 (not far from College Park or Baltimore). We use interactive, modern, and values-based curricula in order to engage and inspire our young learners. Ideal candidates should be comfortable working with diverse children and families and should be familiar with multi-sensory learning. They should have the ability to think outside the box and a commitment to teach the next generation.
