Arts Shabbat

Interested in A Capella or Israeli Dance? Join Avirah (Israeli Dance Company), Kol Sasson (A Capella), Mezumenet (A Capella), and Rak Shalom (A Capella) for a preview after Shabbat services! You can find out more about auditioning (if that’s your thing!) or just learn more about these talented student groups.

  • 7:00 p.m. – Conservative and Orthodox Services
  • 8:30 p.m. – Arts Teaser on Back Patio – Community Dinner to follow (meal Kosher meal with gluten-free, nut-free, soy-free, and vegetarian/vegan options)

 

Arts Audition Information

Avirah, Kol Sasson, Mezumenet, and Rak Shalom are in addition season! Please see below for more information regarding auditions.

A Capella: 

  • WHEN: Monday, September 12th OR Wednesday, September 14th at 7 p.m. Callbacks will be Sunday, September 18th (callback times will vary based on each group)
  • WHERE: Jimenez Hall. Specific rooms for auditions will be posted in the Facebook event at a later time
  • WHAT TO PREPARE: One verse and chorus of any song (preferably not musical theatre) and a verse and chorus of a different song for callbacks. In addition to the solo portion of your audition and/or callback, some groups may do musical exercises to fully hear your sound!
  • CALLBACKS: You will be notified via email, phone call, or the list will be posted on the group’s website/social media pages after each audition day. The groups will tell you how you they will notify you about callbacks during your audition (or just ask)! Also, on the day of callbacks (September 18th) we will post what time you should arrive at the Clarice for callbacks, depending on which groups you get invited back to.
  • NOTE: Make sure to only come to ONE of the two days of auditions, either the 12th or 14th but NOT to both

Israeli Dance (Avirah)

  • WHEN: Sunday, September 4 and 11 at 5:00 p.m.
  • WHERE: STAMP Atrium (September 4) and STAMP Grand Ballroom Lounge (September 11)
  • NOTE: No prior experience necessary!
