Admitted Student Weekend
Friday, March 8- Sunday, March 10

Welcome to Maryland Hillel.  Mazel Tov on your acceptance !!  We are thrilled you are considering UMD. In order to give you a taste of what Jewish life is like at UMD, we are offering this one weekend only, Admitted Student Weekend & Shabbaton.   The weekend will give you a first hand experience on what you can expect during your tenure, should you choose to go to UMD.


4:00pm – Arrive at Maryland Hillel, introductory activities and meet hosts.
6:00pm –
Shabbat Services and dinner with Maryland students, followed by a special Shabbat Oneg with Freshman and Sophomores.

9:30am – Saturday morning services,
12:30pm –
1:00pm – Campus Tour & Free Time
5:00pm – Mincha/Ma’ariv & Havdalah, & Seudath Shlisheet
9:00 – 12:00 Evening Activities/Social Time

9:00am- Minyan & Breakfast
11:00am – Depart

$75.00 includes four meals, a MD Hillel t’shirt and all programmed activities.

Hospitality will be provided in dorms, with current UMD freshman and sophomore’s.  You will need to bring a sleeping bag and pillow.

This weekend will be an alcohol free/drug free weekend.  Participants who violate this policy will forfeit their participation and all program costs.  Parents and the University of Maryland  Admissions Department will be informed of such violations.

Transportation is not included.  Participants MUST make their own arrangements to Maryland Hillel, 7612 Mowatt Lane, College Park, MD 20740.

*Please note, this is really geared for those current seniors who have already been accepted to the university.  Unfortunately, we just cannot allow junior’s to come or students who have not been admitted – we simply do not have the capacity.
