Religious School Teacher (part-time)

Washington Hebrew Congregation is a large Reform synagogue with two Religious School campuses – one in Northwest DC and the other in Potomac, MD. We are looking to recruit staff for the 2025-2026 school year. Our school culture is one of inclusion; we strive to be a welcoming, nurturing environment where students and faculty thrive based on their abilities. Our aim is to foster a strong sense of Jewish identity as our students in all grades explore what Judaism means to them.

Our ideal teachers are passionate and compassionate. They strive to create a strong sense of community in their classroom(s) by engaging students in meaningful ways and inspiring a sense of wonder.

Our school runs on Sunday mornings from 9:30am-12noon at both campuses. Teachers must arrive by 9:15am.
We also have opportunities to work on Tuesdays (in Potomac) and/or Wednesdays (in DC) from 4:30-6:00pm.

Washington Hebrew offers professional development for teachers and we place a major emphasis on creating a supportive and warm environment for all of our staff (as well as our members/families)! We welcome teachers from all Jewish backgrounds and value the beautiful diversity within our community!
